St. Patrick’s Cathedral was completed in 1878. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of New York. This archdiocese covers The Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island, and several downstate New York counties. Brooklyn and Queens belong to the Brooklyn Archdiocese.
